§ 201-21. General.

(a)

The following rules of construction shall apply in interpreting this chapter:

(1)

Words used in the present tense include the future.

(2)

The singular number includes the plural and the plural includes the singular and the masculine includes the feminine and the feminine includes the masculine and the feminine or masculine includes the neuter and the neuter includes the masculine and feminine.

(3)

The word "person" shall not be limited to individuals but includes a corporation, partnership, association or any other entity constituted to submit and act upon application pursuant to the within ordinance.

(4)

The word "lot" includes the word "plot" or "parcel."

(5)

The word "commission" and the words "planning commission" mean the Bensalem Township Planning Commission.

(6)

The word "municipality" always means Bensalem Township.

(7)

The word "county" always means Bucks County.

(b)

Unless otherwise expressly stated, the definitions of words and terms contained in this article shall be used in interpreting this chapter.

(c)

Any word or term or phrase not specifically defined herein shall be defined as set forth in the municipalities planning code and if not so defined therein, the meaning shall be in accordance with standard usage.
